New iPhones with 3nm A17 Pro Chip: Benchmark Results and Performance Comparison

According to the first benchmark results, the new iPhones have performance to spare
This is due to the first 3nm A17 Pro chip and a larger operating memory
The 15 Pro is a bit more powerful than the 14 Pro, and at the same time it’s a steamer running away from the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Just shortly after the unveiling of the new iPhone 15 Pro, the first data on the real performance of these phones with the A17 Pro chip appeared in the Geekbench application. The result is the finding that Apple is not rubbing honey around our mouths, but the next generation of iPhones is again far behind the slower Androids in terms of performance.

According to the first information, the 15 Pro scored 2908 points in the Geekbench single-core test and 7328 points in the multi-core test. Compared to the previous generation with the A16 Bionic chip, this is a significant increase. The original values of the iPhone 14 Pro are 2642 points in the single-core test and 6739 points in the multi-core test.

The chipset with the new name A17 Pro takes care of the performance. It brings the 3nm manufacturing process

When we compare top iPhones with, for example, Samsung’s flagship, we find that even the S23 Ultra with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip does not attack these values. It reached 1878 points in the single-core test and 4973 points in the multi-core test. In this case, iPhones still have a comfortable performance margin.

Larger operating memory and improved 3nm manufacturing process

It is worth noting that both iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max now have a total of 8 GB of operating memory, which increases their performance. Of course, the chip itself, which is the first to be manufactured using the 3nm process, is important.

According to Apple, it has a total of 19 billion transistors and 6 computing cores. Two of them are 10% faster than the rest. Improvements also came in the area of the graphics chip, which, thanks to its six cores, is 20% faster than the previous generation. Also, ray tracing is no longer software, but hardware, which should increase the speed up to four times. This will be especially appreciated by players of graphically demanding mobile titles.
