New iPhones get OLED screens – maybe

Apparently Apple is now bringing organic displays into the cheaper iPhone models. All 12th generation iPhones are to be equipped with OLED displays. This reports “Heise“citing the Japanese business newspaper”Nikkei“.

Samsung in particular should benefit from Apple’s increased OLED demand, Nikkei writes. This is because the panels from the Chinese display manufacturer BOE have so far not met Apple’s quality requirements.

Apple is now dispensing with the addition of a power adapter and headphones for the upcoming iPhones and iPads. Not only can costs be saved, in theory, Apple could also use it to further boost the sale of its wireless alternatives.

A new function for iOS 14 and macOS 11 will warn users in the future whether a password stored in the keychain has been compromised. Read more about it here.
