The iPhone 13 is slated to appear on September 14.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, CALIFORNIA — The iPhone 13 is scheduled to appear on September 14. There is speculation that says iPhone 13 the new one may appear without the button.
Reported from CNET, Wednesday (8/9) a United States (US) patent application found by Apple Insider points out the company is investigating “capacitive sensing input devices”. Apparently these input devices, aka buttons, will be “invisible backlit holes” that appear when touched and disappear when used.
The big question is whether a feature like this will appear on the latest iPhone devices or whether it will have to wait until 2022 or so to see Apple integrate it. It’s not a completely wild concept and fits well with other possible changes Apple might make to future iPhones.
For example, there is talk of the iPhone 13 getting the fingerprint scanner back. Instead of a physical reader, the new scanner will live under the surface of the phone screen. It’s a tactic that certainly fits into the minimalist, buttonless design aesthetic that Apple has had to choose to go this route.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg commented on rumors about a fingerprint scanner, called Touch ID, in the August Power On Newsletter. Gurman speculated that the under-display Touch ID sensor would not work for the iPhone 13. He said Apple would embed Face ID under the display instead of Touch ID.
Apple turned off the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 in 2016 and rumors suggest the Lightning port might get a cutback as well. If the iPhone 13 fixes its Lightning port and goes all-in on wireless charging, it will be Apple’s first phone to go completely portless.
