Apple unveils iPad Air 2020

Starting with the new iPad Air. Apple’s new tablet has a new design, is a lot more powerful and has a USB-C connection. Especially the presence of the A14 processor is striking. This is the same chip that the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 mini will use. The iPad Air can already be ordered. Apple has also announced a new entry-level tablet: the ‘regular’ iPad 2020. It has the same large screen as its predecessor, has been significantly improved under the hood and can handle keyboards such as Apple’s own Magic Keyboard. It is a pity that the design has not been adjusted. The iPad 2020 therefore looks quite dated.

Apple Watch Series 6 officially unveiled

The Apple Watch Series 5 has received a successor. The Series 6 gets some cool health functions, with the pulse oximeter as an absolute eye-catcher. This infrared sensor can measure the oxygen level in your blood and thus reveal underlying health problems (such as heart problems).

Affordable Apple Watch SE unveiled

Finally, Apple has also presented a completely new watch: the Watch SE. This largely has the same functions as the Series 6, but is considerably cheaper thanks to a few cuts. For example, the Watch SE does not have a pulse oximeter and ECG function (for heart films), but it does have an altimeter and heart rate monitor.

Apple One announced: saving on your Apple subscriptions

At the close of the Apple event, the company also announced Apple One. This umbrella subscription is especially beneficial for people who now purchase several separate services from Apple. In the Netherlands there are two Apple One packages available: Individual and Family. The former costs 14.99 euros per month, for Family you pay 5 euros more and you can share with your family. With both packages you have unlimited access to Apple Arcade, Apple TV Plus, Apple Music and iCloud storage.

Update: AirPods Pro now has surround sound

Do you have AirPods Pro? Then you can enjoy surround sound since this week. Apple has released a firmware update that adds Spatial Audio, or Spatial Audio in English. This update will automatically install on your Pro earbuds and the feature will make the sound seem to move around you. The AirPods Pro can handle 5.1, 7.1 and Dolby Atmos sound after the update.
