New investments. Joint projects with Turkey – 2024-03-11 16:26:49

The Minister of Economy and Industry Bogdan Bogdanov met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to our country H.E. Eileen Sekizkök. The two discussed the high level of economic relations and new opportunities for development between the two countries. The conversation at the Ministry of Economy and Industry took place on the occasion of the end of Ambassador Sekizkök’s mandate, the press center of the ministry reports.

During the meeting H.E. Eileen Sekizkök thanked Minister Bogdanov for his work, with which he contributed to the increase of bilateral trade and mutual investments, as well as for creating an environment in which Turkish business felt good.

“We have reached a point of very good economic relations. Now is the time to draw steps that will give even better results,” said the economic minister. He recalled the implementation of the priority investment project for the Bulgarian government in the Alcomet aluminum plant.

During the meeting H.E. Aileen Sekizkök presented upcoming important economic events and forums that will be held in Turkey and in our country by the end of the year and invited the Ministry of Economy and Industry and Bulgarian business to join them. She noted that Bulgaria has well-developed high-tech companies in the automotive and space science sectors. According to the words of His Excellency Aylin Sekizkök Turkey is interested in implementing joint projects in these areas.

The Minister of Economy and the Turkish ambassador also discussed the environment for Turkish investors in our country. During the meeting, Bogdan Bogdanov announced that Bulgaria’s efforts to reduce the administrative burden for foreign investors will continue. He recalled the creation of two new industrial zones in Varna and Burgas and stated that the Bulgarian and Turkish states could cooperate in the construction and development of the industrial zones and the possibilities of implementing projects with a public-private partnership.

Bogdanov recalled that against the background of the recession in Europe, the Ministry of Economy and Industry strives to develop its relations with Central and East Asian countries. He emphasized that Turkey is a suitable partner for Bulgaria and that there is great synergy between the two countries for the implementation of joint projects in various fields. Bogdanov also emphasized that he will continue the work and dialogue with the new ambassador and with the embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Bulgaria.
