The commune of Bourg-d’Oisans acquired the former Hôtel du Glandon which it pre-empted, as well as several rights of way on the western edge of the RD 1091.
Initially, only a simple roundabout was envisaged. The elected officials of the Eau d’Olle valley had stressed that during tourist periods, it would not bring much benefit to turn left when coming from Grenoble.
A new intersection is being studied by the Department. Indeed, thanks to land acquisitions in Bourg-d’Oisans, with a wider footprint, a right turn can be created, identical to the one found on the Vizille roundabout.
When the project is finalized and the operation included in the Department’s budget, then the latter will acquire the land it has pre-empted from Bourg-d’Oisans. An operation awaited by the municipalities of the Eau d’Olle valley. Guy Verney, mayor and president of the CCO (Community of communes of Oisans), will address this issue during an upcoming meeting with the president of the Department, Jean-Pierre Barbier.
