Australia is in the process of transforming renewable energy infrastructure. To this end, it develops various projects that present new opportunities for international companies. Among the notable projects is the Pilbara Green Link (PGL), promoted by Horizon Power, which seeks to develop 575 kilometers of high voltage transmission lines (330 kV) and two substations in Port Hedland and Yandicoogina Creek, connecting the Australian Renewable Energy Center (AREH) with strategic regions of the country .
To carry out this project, Horizon Power has opened a call for expression of interest (EOI) to facilitate participation for interested companies.
On the other hand, the Capacity Investment Plan (CIS) has approved funding for six new renewable energy projects in Victoria and South Australia, which will add 3,626 megawatt hours (MWh) to the electricity system. These initiatives represent an investment aimed both at local communities and initiatives to promote economic and social development in the region, including training and employment programs.
Both projects present outstanding opportunities for Basque companies in the energy and industrial sector, ranging from the manufacture of electrical components to the design and construction of infrastructure.
Along these lines, Basque Trade & Investment (BasqueTrade), the agency for the internationalization of Basque companies integrated into the SPRI Group, offers the necessary support to facilitate participation in these tenders, offering interested companies personalized advice on key aspects such as financing. and international contracting processes.
Furthermore, to facilitate the access of Basque companies to the Australian market, BasqueTrade will open a new commercial office in the oceanic country next quarter, which will strengthen commercial ties between both regions and favor the creation of a favorable environment for Basque companies to increase. its presence in one of the fastest growing markets in clean energy.
