According to the Yonhap news agency, South Korean intelligence informs that Kim Jong-un’s wife Ri Sol-ju will have three children.
A number of international media outlets wrote that on Tuesday.
This is not new, but the intelligence confirms earlier speculation, and provides more details than before.
Favorite daughter
Recently, the daughter Kim Ju-ae, who is supposed to be nine or ten years old, has appeared with her father several times, and there is intense speculation that this is a signal that she is the one who is intended for the role of Kim- the dynasty’s next leader.
This despite the fact that the daughter is not the oldest, but the middle child. According to South Korean intelligence, she must have a brother, who was born in 2010, and is therefore 12 or 13 years old. The youngest child will be born in 2017.
Kim Jong-un also designated without being the oldest
Kim Jong-un’s grandfather Kim Il Sung was the first leader of the “modern” North Korea that was established in the late 1940s. When he died in 1994 after ruling since 1948, his son Kim Jong Il took over as dictator.
Kim Jong Il designated his son Kim Jong-un as his successor. The signals that he was designated came, as with Kim Ju-ae, already when he was a child. Kim Jong-un was not the oldest either, he is said to have had at least two older brothers, maybe three, one of them, half-brother Kim Jong-nam, was kidnapped in Malaysia in 2017, aged 46. In addition, he has one or two older sisters.
His younger sister Kim Yo Jong (35) is one of the leader’s closest advisers and his most trusted spokesperson.
