Many of us like to sleep without a pillow. But have you heard of the harm of this habit? Here is what this article says and find out more about these damages.
Russian reflexologist Andrei Kapishkin has warned people with certain diseases to in no way sleep without a pillow, pointing to the great risks they could be exposed to.
Kapishkin stressed: “Sleeping without a pillow is dangerous for those suffering from cervical osteochondrosis, cervical radiculopathy, cervical disc herniation and vascular diseases associated with the vertebral artery.”
He said people with headaches should sleep on a pillow, because this is a sign of a lack of oxygen in the brain, which means that the vessels that supply blood to the brain are compressed somewhere.
He recommended the use of a regular pillow, the thickness of which is equal to the length of the shoulder from the neck to the humerus, for any person with any of the aforementioned diseases, adding that the natural curvature of the cervical spine must be “filled” during the sleep so that the blood vessels supply blood to the brain and so that the brain does not suffer from lack of oxygen.
