American actor Jeremy Renner, who suffered very serious injuries after being run over by a motorcycle, is still in the hospital. His close friends have now released more detailed information, which unfortunately does not sound very favorable. The Avengers star’s condition is said to be more serious than previously thought and it will take years to get back to normal.
More than two weeks have passed since the tragic accident of the popular American actor, who gained fans around the world thanks to his role as Hawkeye in the Avengers series. Renner was seriously injured while helping his relative get his car out of the snow at a house in Nevada, USA. The safety system of the 6.5 ton snow plow failed, overturned and ran over the actor. New information shows that Renner was very close to death indeed. The actor is said to have “almost bled to death” and “almost died” while waiting for help.
His condition remains serious even after two weeks. The first information from the hospital spoke of a punctured chest and other orthopedic injuries. But now friends of the famous actor have described even more serious problems. “It is much worse than known. Jeremy is very aware of the fact that he almost died out there. The right side of Jeremy’s chest was crushed and the upper torso collapsed. He also had a nasty gash on his head that was bleeding and an injured leg,” the website quoted him as saying RadarOnline the actor’s friend. “He was in a lot of pain and had trouble breathing. He knew he was in bad shape and that he might not make it,” the source added.
The chest was said to be so damaged that they had to operate on it. “He has had two operations so far and will probably need another one in the coming weeks, specifically a leg operation,” said a friend of the actor. According to him, doctors tend not to perform procedures at once, so that the body has time to start the natural healing process. The return to normal is said to take up to two years.
The actor regularly reports to his fans on social networks, where he shares, for example, trips to X-rays and other examinations. “Jeremy is doing well. He’s heavily drugged and has tubes to help him breathe, but he’s a fighter and he’s determined to get through this,” the friend described. It’s also clear from social media that he has a lot of help from his family, who regularly cheer him on. Renner also recently added a photo of his snowy home with a caption saying he misses it.
