The Infiniti QX80 frame SUV is a real old-timer of the Japanese brand range. Since 2010, he managed to transfer the index change (13 years ago, the QX80 was released as the second-generation Infiniti QX56), two restylings and several light upgrades that helped the Japanese hide the true age of the model. But every year it became more and more difficult for them: even in the American market, which is a priority for the Infiniti brand, annual sales of the model fell to several thousand cars last year.
It’s time for a successor – Infiniti is preparing a new SUV, the imminent premiere of which heralds the concept car Infiniti QX Monograph. The novelty gives an idea of the appearance of the future production model, but the creators of the conceptual SUV left the technical characteristics and even the interior design behind the scenes. In a word, now – only a design, flavored with a few purely conceptual details that will not reach the conveyor.
In general, the Infiniti QX Monograph leaves no doubt that the serial QX80 will retain the familiar image of its predecessors. The giant body with a long and high hood is decorated with many straight horizontal lines and a large radiator grille with a new brand logo, but the proportions of the body have changed slightly.
The curves of the body and the plasticity of the sidewalls are emphasized by the spectacular deep shade of Akane – a rich color that changes depending on the lighting, the concept car owes a six-layer paintwork.
Otherwise, there were no revolutions – the concept car tried on optics with LED jumpers, which has become a common place in the global auto industry (the headlights are made two-level in the latest fashion), and a “floating” black roof with disguised pillars, and retractable door handles. Apparently, the designers did not dare to take the risk, so as not to scare away potential buyers. But the air ducts in the front fenders are real, although they are unlikely to get the serial version unchanged.
According to preliminary information, the QX Monograph concept car will turn into a new Infiniti QX80 in about a year. At the same time, images of the interior and all technical details will be published.
