The municipality reported 14 new cases of infection on Sunday. Therefore, a meeting in the municipality is being accelerated where new measures will be considered, reports Sunnmørsposten.
– It is a very serious situation. We are in contact with the National Institute of Public Health and have accelerated the crisis meeting to early Monday morning, says mayor Eva Vinje Aurdal (Labor) to the newspaper.
At 9 o’clock, the municipal management will have a meeting with the state administrator, NTB is informed.
Aurdal says that she expects that measures such as a stop to drinking and a bandage will be introduced, and that the situation is at least as serious as it was before Easter, when Ålesund was shut down. She calls it a third wave.
Since Thursday, more than 40 people have tested positive for corona in Ålesund. Most of these are related to visits to the restaurants Anno and Toldboden.
In addition, an employee at Dråpe Kaffehus has been diagnosed with an infection, and the municipality is now asking everyone who has visited to be aware of symptoms.
