New Indictment: Trump’s Property Manager Implicated in Mishandling of Classified Documents

The new indictment against Donald Trump, former president of the United States, by the Department of Justice brought with it a new suspect in the case of mishandling of classified documents: Carlos De Oliveira, property manager of Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s private resort located in Palm Beach, Florida.

The Justice Department charged former President Trump with trying to delete video from Mar-a-Lago security cameras, and The prosecution named De Oliveira, 56, as one of the new parties involved in the case, for which he must appear in court in Miami next Monday..

According to information from The New York Times, special prosecutor Jack Smith, who is leading the investigation into the mishandling of classified documents by Trump and his assistant, Walt Nauta, had been investigating De Oliveira for months.

In fact, De Oliveira had become a concern for special prosecutor Smithaccording to The New York Times, for his communications with an information technology expert at Mar-a-Lago, identified as Yuscil Taveras, who was in charge of monitoring security camera footage at the property.

The investigation indicated that Trump and De Oliveira spoke for 24 minutes after the government demanded audiovisual material from the Mar-a-Lago security cameras.

The New York Times reported that the prosecution indicated that De Oliveira, together with Walt Nauta, went to the place where the security camera videos were stored and “observed and pointed at the cameras.”

De Oliveira later spoke with Taveras, who was identified as “Trump Employee 4” in the indictment, and they had a conversation that “should remain between the two of them,” according to The New York Times.

In said conversation, De Oliveira told Taveras that “The Boss” (which could refer to Donald Trump) wanted “the servers to be wiped,” referring to the servers that stored the video from the security cameras..

The accusation, reviewed by The New York Times, also indicated that another Trump employee would have told Walt Nauta that De Oliveira was a “loyal” employee and that he would “never do anything to affect his relationship with Mr. Trump.”

In addition, Investigators believe De Oliveira made false statements to authorities by denying that he had seen or knew anything related to the boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago.and the accusation indicates that De Oliveira personally helped move the boxes.

De Oliveira’s attorney, John Irving, has yet to comment on the matter, according to The New York Times.
