Itzling is such a nice place, almost like a village. But stop! A really nice shop has opened somewhere between the Grand Hotel Itzling and the Pommes Boutique. The faem Studio.
The faem Studio is a co-enterprise of three women. We have known Maja the longest. She was on board on one of our first escapes from the city and in the meantime has opened something like a small macramé empire in Salzburg. It was she who was looking for a place to work, exhibit, hold workshops and sell.
Added to this are Tamara with her beautiful to.derive sewing things and Tina with little souls – Natural Newborn Photography. The products of the three founders go well together and that’s why it wasn’t so difficult for them to name the whole thing faem-natural art studio admit. But what does this faem mean?
faem- family and femini(smus)n
Ok, faem doesn’t mean anything at all, because: Maja, Tamara and Tina came up with the term. But under the artificial word they collect everything that is important to them: the family interaction with each other and with their customers. And empowerment, simply because women need a lot more of it. The faem women have divided themselves into four rooms – and we’ll knock on their door.
Who is behind faem? Room #1: Maja von wild.knots
Workshops and other events take place regularly in the faem studio. So keep checking back the website Or on the graaaam.
With the sales and workshop room, Maja has fulfilled a small dream. We know that because we have already done a workshop with her – at that time still in a foreign location. Now she has everything in one place in the faem studio: her macrame threads (or yarn?), which she links for commissioned work and other products. And lots of other adorable parts that she sells as a dealer. Rattan mirrors, dried flowers and accessories. The decor in boho heaven. What Maja also does, by the way: she lends out her knotted treasures for micro-weddings or smaller celebrations. Just so you don’t have to get your fingers sore and lose your nerve.
The goal of faem: networking
It is a wish of Maja, Tamara and Tina to create a place with their faem studio where like-minded people can find each other. That’s why regulars’ tables, small art markets or exchange markets (e.g. plant cuttings) are organized where you can exchange ideas and ask real questions.

Room #2: Tamara from to.derive
Maja and Tamara didn’t know each other before they ended up in the studio together. At least before the first talks have started. But it fit right away. Tamara sews high-quality home textiles from sustainable materials. The things are super nice and simple and very comfortable on the skin. The best idea: packaging towels. You can wrap gifts in the finely sewn fabrics – take the packaging (which would otherwise end up in the trash) back with you and use it again.
Tina furnished her room like a living room. Makes sense because it’s where New Born and other family shoots take place. That’s why there’s a comfortable bed and a couch and a very cool children’s swing made by Maja. Because you don’t think much about clothes with a two-week-old baby, Tina also has a small closet with suitable things on site – for mums and babies.
The heart of the faem studio is the sales room. Here you can have a look during the opening hours and get the beautiful things from the faems. If you are looking for a cozy space to hold a meeting or a workshop – please check out the faem studio. Rarely have we seen a place furnished with so much love and attention to detail. Even the sales booth was built in-house and where possible, the three founders contributed their skills. By the way, the logo is from Bureau Gerstgrasser. And embodies the spirit of the studio quite well.
