A lot has been said about German film titles, but sometimes they just hit the mark! The Argentine horror party “Emesis” (ie: “vomit”) received the much more significant (and attractive) title “PussyCake – Monster, Musik und Gore!” on the German market. You can do it in a movie where a band called PussyCake wants to save their music career but instead trudges into a brutal and gross adventure full of monsters and blood!
The horror comedy topped off with numerous cinematic references and slammed music “PussyCake” celebrates its German home cinema premiere this week (October 14, 2022).. In addition to a limited media book with the DVD and Blu-ray movie, the movie is also available in a regular DVD and Blu-ray edition:

It doesn’t matter which edition you choose: The film is completely uncut. Due to their bonus material (including three short films!), Home cinema releases have an FSK rating of 18, but the lead film is 16.
“PussyCake”: a homicidal comeback?
The heyday of the rock group PussyCake (Flor Moreno, Anahí Politi, Sofia Rossi and Aldana Ruberto) has long passed. To revive their careers, they go on tour again, only to find that tragedy is on their heels. Fans have forgotten her. A storm sweeps away the stage during a provincial party. And the worst part is that the beer is gone! Oh, and their gang wagon breaks in the middle of nowhere. Oh, and the aliens are trying to get them. Oh, and let’s not forget the zombies throwing up a poisonous substance! Okay, maybe the worst part isn’t that the beer is over …
It goes without saying that when aliens and zombies throw up wipe out humanity, there will no longer be an audience cheering for the return of a broken band. Therefore, PussyCake rockers have to save the world to save their music career. Director Pablo Parés turns expectations on indie splatter horror fun and a film about a rock band by letting the relentless “PussyCake vs. Grotesque Monsters” battle unfold largely out in the open.
This means: the rockers are out of their comfort zone and the camera can do it all Drops of vomit, splashes of blood and all kinds of disgusting bits capture in all details. There is no way to cheat the budget, the effects have to be right! It also means more fun nastiness for the PussyCake audience to discover. That’s just what needs to be prepared for a horror party that breaks out quickly, but can also expect a big “Find the Reference” party.
“PussyCake” has numerous Return to the “Terminator” series, “Predator” and cult trashy horror comedy “Ghoulies” to offer. In addition, of course, to the subcultures of music festivals. The clearest homage, however, is given to “Tanz der Teufel” (Tanz der Teufel), which is why “Moshpit der Teufel” would have been a good choice as a German film title for “PussyCake”.
