New icons for Windows 10

March 3, 2020 –
Microsoft has started shipping new icons for Windows 10. So far, the new icon language was only available for users of the Insider Previews.

Microsoft is rolling out new icons for Windows 10 users, such as various platforms such as “BetaNews” to report. It appears that the new icons will be distributed to users of the latest version of Windows 1909. Sometimes this should happen automatically – for example, with the icons for the mail or calendar application. Some of the apps apparently have to be updated via the Microsoft Store.

Microsoft already introduced the new icon language last December. At that time, the software giant explained that the new icons were intended to symbolize innovation and change, but at the same time to ensure a recognition effect. Participants in the Windows Insider program already got the new icons for a while purposed. It is not clear whether the new icons will also be rolled out for Windows versions that are not up to date in 1909.
