New Hyundai Tucson Rejuvenated with Enhanced Aesthetics, Multimedia, and Safety Features

The most popular Hyundai on the European market arrives in a rejuvenated form. Modifications focused more on aesthetics, more modern multimedia and new safety assistants.

For most of the world, the Hyundai Tucson is produced in Nošovice, Czech Republic, where the compact i30 series and the electric version of the Kona crossover are also produced alongside it. Since September 2020, over 750,000 examples of the Tucson SUV have left the factory near Frýdek-Místek, with 158,000 remaining in Europe last year alone. Among the most important markets for this model are Germany, Great Britain and Spain, in the Czech Republic in 2023, with 6,495 units, it was the eighth most frequently registered new car overall.

As part of the mandatory modernization in the middle of the life cycle, Hyundai evidently stuck to the motto “What works, don’t change it”. There are therefore minimal differences compared to the older design, at least at first glance.

The interior underwent the biggest changes. Instead of a separate central display and virtual on-board instruments, you now have a screen with a pair of 12.3-inch monitors. The ventilation control has also been changed, but for the better in the light of recent years. While in the original Hyundai Tucson you set the temperature with touch surfaces, the SUV now has rotating wheels with displays inside. Touchpads for other functions remained.

The bold exterior design remained. After the rejuvenation, you can notice larger segments of daytime running lights, a redesigned bumper and a slightly modified radiator grille. There are also matrix headlights that prevent dazzling other drivers. The rear remains virtually identical. Other alloy wheel designs and four paint colors are new: Cypress Green, Ecotronic Grey, Ultimate Red and Sailing Blue.

The sporty N Line trim boasts a more aggressive exterior with a different grille, nineteen-inch wheels and body-colored fender flares.

Units with a volume of 1.6 liters only remain, after a short hiatus the diesel 1.6 CRDi, which was dropped from the offer last fall, is also returning. The basis is turbocharged T-GDI petrols with 110 and 132 kilowatts, which will be complemented by the aforementioned diesel with up to 100 kW. However, there are also partially electrified alternatives in the form of a classic hybrid with a system output of 169 kW and a plug-in hybrid with 195 kilowatts.

The aforementioned multimedia is complemented by a new head-up display. The on-board system supports online updates, for which you do not need to go to the service, there is also a digital key function. You download it to your phone, which you can then use to unlock and start the Hyundai Tucson. Just have your cell phone in your pocket.

The new equipment will include an assistant monitoring the side wind and monitoring the space on the rear seats, so that you don’t accidentally forget a child in the car.
