New Hyundai Santa Fe 2023

The Korean company is preparing a new generation of its popular crossover, and judging by the available spy photos of test samples, the novelty will be radically different from the current model.

The first generation of Santa Fe appeared in 2000, becoming the serial version of the concept of the same name, demonstrated a year earlier at the Detroit International Auto Show. It also became the first crossover in the history of the brand, followed by Tucson introduced only in 2004. Today the fourth generation of the SUV is already on the conveyor belt, its preview took place in February 2018 and in the summer of 2020 the model has received a major restyling. now, Hyundai is preparing a completely new crossover, which outwardly will have little to do with the current Santa Fe.

While we have several spy on photos and videos, which show strongly camouflaged specimens. However, it is already clear that the model will receive a completely new angular body, in the shape of the latest generation Defender. Here the shape of the windows is similar and the windscreen pillars are done in black. The front is made almost vertical and the headlights will receive H-shaped LED running lights. The wheel arches are round, but the large plastic trim on them is made angular. The rear is still the most disguised, you can only see the horizontal lights located at the bottom of the trunk lid. It is possible that Santa Fe also receives vertical blocks, similar to the ones we have seen before futuristic minivan Staria. In addition, the crossover is shown with one of the variants of the original discs.

There is still no reliable information on the technical part of the novelty. The current Santa Fe in its pre-styled form was built on the Hyundai-Kia Y6 platform (the previous generation of Kia Sorento was also built on it) and during the restyling, the crossover “moved” to the Hyundai platform -Kia N3, which is used by the current Sorrento. In the South Korean domestic market, the crossover is equipped with a 281 horsepower 2.5 T-GDI turbo petrol and a 194 horsepower 2.2-liter turbodiesel. The Santa Fe is also available as a plug-in hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) in various markets.

The premiere of the new Santa Fe generation is scheduled for next year.

Today in Russia, the current Santa Fe is offered with three engines. The most affordable crossover with a 180-horsepower 2.5 gasoline and a 6-speed “automatic” will cost 3,969,000 rubles. The 200-horsepower 2.2 CRDi diesel version paired with an 8-speed “robot” is estimated at at least 4,279,000 rubles. At the top of the range is the 249 HP 3.5 V6 version. and 8-speed automatic transmission, from 4,549,000 rubles.

Meanwhile, yesterday it debuted the new generation Grandeur flagship sedan.
