In particular, Katalina Novak, during her inauguration, voiced the position of Hungary regarding the invasion of the Russian Armed Forces into Ukraine in ten points.
According to her, official Budapest condemns “Putin’s” aggression against a sovereign state and opposes the restoration of the Soviet Union.

Under no circumstances are we ready to give up our sovereignty, for which we have fought many times, and we are constantly developing our defense forces,” Novak continued at the inauguration ceremony and added that Hungary supports Ukraine’s entry into the European Union.
In addition, as the president assured, Budapest is ready to act as an intermediary between Kyiv and Moscow to resolve a full-scale war. In her speech, Novak also stated that the country’s authorities would continue to insist on respect for the rights of Hungarians living in Ukraine.
“We are ready to sacrifice for the sake of peace and will not interfere with the help of our allies, but we will not agree to decisions that require more victims from the Hungarians than the harm they cause to the Russian aggressor,” Katalina Novak summed up during her speech.
