It could have started from a place of prayer in which some of the infected, Bangladeshis of Islamic religion, would have gathered without following any of the indications of precaution and social distancing foreseen by the Coronavirus emergency, the contagion that in the last hours is creating more than some concern in Jesolo (Venice).
It is precisely to reconstruct this situation and try to trace all the participants that USSL 4 was activated, initially alerted by a worrying number of positives at Covid-19 among the employees of a restaurant in the Lido di Jesolo. What should be patient zero, a citizen of Bangladesh who works in the kitchen, had manifested some worrying symptoms a few days ago: the visit to the doctor, then the pharyngeal swab in the hospital. Confirmed the positivity, the foreigner was not hospitalized but placed in isolation inside his home.
After the alarm, of course, checks were also carried out on the other employees of the restaurant: the results would have brought up another three cases of positivity to Covid, all Bangladeshi citizens who work in the same kitchen as patient zero. Foreigners, asymptomatic, ended up in isolation at home as has already happened for the colleague, while as usual the restaurant has been closed as a precaution by Ussl 4, which immediately went to work to reconstruct the origin of the first infection, also on the basis of Bengali tales.
The strongest suspicion is that everything originated from a group prayer carried out by the Bengali in an environment that has not yet been identified, presumably without rules of distancing nor the use of masks. Therefore, it remains a priority to identify this meeting facility: suspicions for now fall on the Cortellazzo area and on the area of Piazza Mazzini, where the faithful already Muslims, numerous on the coast of Jesolo, gathered to pray together. According to the police, therefore, these group prayers would still occur in the same areas already frequented or perhaps in private homes used ad hoc. The hope of the authorities is to shed light on the matter as soon as possible to prevent a new and dangerous outbreak from being created.
In an attempt to mitigate the tense atmosphere that has arisen, the spokesperson for the Committee for the Defense of Civil Rights Francesco Esposito spoke: “The new cases of foreign workers who tested positive at Covid-19 create alarm and new tensions in Jesolo. We believe that the problem is part of the normal case of infections that can occur and that normally occur even with citizens not necessarily from abroad”, declares the man, as reported by “The messenger”. “The national health system is now well established and knows how to deal with the situation by quarantining the infected. It is therefore not logical to foment new fears that would have the only result of damaging the Jesolo economy, a clumsy political tactics during the election period “, he concludes controversially.
