Do you enjoy your life on your (maybe not entirely) deserted island? Are you still camping or have you already had a Tom Nook house built? And how many types of flora and fauna on your island does Eugen have to watch out for in the museum?
No matter how far or near you are, nobody seems immune from this mistake. Because reports keep popping up reddit and official sites on that when loading the Animal crossing Island something does not work, the memory data is corrupt. You lose all your progress and have to start from scratch. There does not seem to be a uniform situation. Some report the corruption of the data after visiting foreign islands, others accidentally ended an ongoing visit to the island Nintendo Switch Menu and still others switched theirs Nintendo Switch in the title screen of Animal Crossing: New Horizons after regular saving from or to sleep mode. As I said, the only thing left to do is restart the island adventure.
So we cannot give any general tips for avoiding the error, we can only hope that Nintendo this will be fixed as soon as possible and the island experience will not be ruined (more than once) by more players.
