Techland – the Polish developer behind games such as Call of Juarez and Dying Light – has set its sights on RPGs and fantasy for its next game project. This week, the team shared a little more about the scheme, along with a new piece of concept art.
Via Twitter, Techland writes that the next game will be a story-driven adventure set in an exotic and fantasy-inspired open world. The goal is to create a high-budget experience that builds on the gameplay that Techland is known for. Exactly what that means, the developer did not go into.
The article continues below the Twitter message.
The image – which you can see in its entirety below – shows a figure hanging from a tree, looking out over a vast and varied landscape on the horizon. The colorful world is populated by both animals and humans, but otherwise it is not good to say what players can expect.
As Techland explained last year the project has brought along a bunch of former CD Projekt RED people. Among other things, the writing team has experience from The Witcher 2 and The Witcher 3, while the open world boss worked on both The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077.
What the game will be called has not yet been confirmed. The developer has also not said anything about launch plans or which platforms the game will come to.
