The new high-power router will be especially important in moments when it is necessary to transmit a huge amount of data in a short period of time, but due to the specifics of the environment or other reasons, it is impossible or difficult to build a data transmission cable network.
As one of the possible ways of using the high-power router created in Latvia, the provision of data transmission between ships at sea and ships in port is mentioned. Already in the near future, tests are planned, developing 5G coverage also in the Baltic Sea.
Vice President of LMT Gunārs Dambergs explains that this router, as an industrial router, will be widely used in all Latvian production sectors and also in the creation of the so-called maritime network coverage.
In parallel with the presentation and testing of the new 5G router, this year’s “5G Techritory” forum paid a lot of attention to artificial intelligence, metaverse and military technology issues.
