New heat record in Canada | ABC News

Several schools and vaccine centers in western Canada and parts of the western United States had to close on Monday due to the heat wave.

In Lytton in British Columbia in southwestern Canada, the highest temperature in the country ever was recorded, with 47.8 degrees. The day before, a new record had also been set.

Temperatures in the US cities of Portland, Oregon and Seattle have not been as high as they have been since registration began in the 1940s. It was recorded 46 degrees in Portland and 42 degrees in Seattle on Monday.
