New Grooming Salon in Moutiers: Barbara Jérôme Receives Honorary Loan for Quality Equipment

For her new grooming salon in Moutiers, Barbara Jérôme asked for a €3,000 loan from the Initiative Bassins Briey Orne association, which was granted to her. The money allowed him to invest in quality equipment to best pamper his furry customers.

You may have seen, in the city of Strasbourg in Moutiers, a freshly installed showcase, with small animal heads. This is the new 1000 Pattes grooming salon opened by Barbara Jérôme on August 1st.

Few groomers in the area

Originally from Thionville, she previously worked in IT. Until converting to work with animals. “There is the veterinary profession, but I have too much empathy for that. So I chose groomer”.

And if the profession can be exercised without any diploma, she wanted to do things according to the rules of the art. “There are only eight schools that issue the state-recognized diploma, including the CFA of Mulhouse “. It was there that she completed eight months of training, before starting her own business. “I chose to settle in the Briey sector because at the time, there was no grooming salon here”. It was in Moutiers that she finally found the ideal place, “the former owner was a liberal nurse, he was very little on site, so I had almost no work to do”.

Cats, dogs… and rabbits

It was then necessary to invest seriously in professional equipment. Barbara Jérôme then asked the Initiative Bassins Briey Orne (IBBO) association to obtain a loan of honor of €3,000, in addition to the loan already taken out at the bank. The latter is granted to him, and allows him to buy a hair dryer for animals, a table, an electric bathtub, or even grooming tools.

For the moment, her activity is starting as she wished. Slowly, but surely, with a crowd that allows him to take his time. “As I’m just starting out, I’m still a little long, and I want to do things well and put the animal at ease so that the grooming takes place in the best conditions”. And she insists on using only products made with natural ingredients. She does hair for dogs, cats, but also rabbits, a specialty that she offers, and which is in high demand.
