New General Labor Law may come into force in January 2024 – Jornal OPaís

The new General Labor Law could come into force in January 2024, said the Minister of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, Teresa Dias, this Tuesday in Luanda, according to Angop. According to the minister, who spoke on the sidelines of the end of the training year, the Law was approved by Parliament in May this year and is in the process of being published via the National Press.

Teresa Dias stated that work was done to ensure that the diploma had “a great impact” on the lives of workers. The General Labor Law, initiated by the Holder of the Executive Power, reintroduces a set of rules repealed with Law No. 2/00, of February 11, and presents some changes, with emphasis on the establishment of Personality Rights.

Among the new features of the document are the contract for an indefinite period, complementary maternity leave, from three months to an optional four months, the extension of disciplinary measures, the mobility of workers within the same group of companies and teleworking. Reconfigures the criteria for setting additional remuneration, as well as determining indemnities and compensations.
