New general hospital in Bengo will be a training and scientific research center – Jornal OPaís

The Minister of Health, Sílvia Lutucuta, said yesterday, Tuesday, in Caxito, that the new Bengo general hospital will be a center for scientific research and specialized training of technicians of all sizes.

Built in the Bucula area, the project is 90 percent physically completed and has already begun to be equipped.

Speaking to the press, at the end of a visit to the construction of the new hospital, he considered that the work was progressing well and that the civil construction and technical networks were guaranteed to be completed by the 15th of this month.

“Until the inauguration, which we eagerly hope to take place on November 8th, all the work will be done to ensure that the work ends with the desired quality”, said the minister.

He said that human resources will be ensured by mobility, especially the more senior teams, but the recruitment of professionals from Bengo and other provinces will be guaranteed.

“What I can guarantee is that the human resources for the units to be opened are guaranteed”, he highlighted. He informed that the sector is paying attention to all levels of care (primary, secondary and tertiary) and recalled that within the scope of PIIM, health has 330 projects, of which only six belong to the central body (ministry).

The new Bengo General Hospital, costing more than USD 60 million, is being built on a total area of ​​45 thousand square meters. It has a capacity for 200 beds, 15 clinical areas distributed in 24 blocks, six residences for healthcare professionals and a hemodialysis center (which will be a new feature).
