New Fvg civil protection contingent left for Emilia

(ANSA) – PORDENONE, OCTOBER 26 – 35 volunteers from the Fvg Civil Protection and two officials, the fourth contingent of the Fvg Civil Protection, left yesterday for Emilia Romagna to provide assistance in the Pianoro area. The contingent will be equipped with modules and equipment for washing and earthmoving machinery for clearing waste and accumulated material. This was announced by the Fvg councilor for Civil Protection Riccardo Riccardi. Between September and October, numerous men and vehicles were also deployed in Fvg due to the atmospheric events that occurred in the region. Riccardi specified that “our presence on site became operational from 18 October; after the issuing of the red alert which among the other Regions also affected Emilia Romagna and the urgent convocation of the technical committee of the Regions, requests and the first 2 officials in Ravenna. Then, the urgent activation of the mobile column in hydraulic kit was requested, which was followed by the departure on Sunday 20th of the first contingent: 11 volunteers and two officials”. On the same day, a second contingent was also sent (16 volunteers and 2 officials): both groups were assigned to the municipalities of Zola Pedrosa and Anzola. A third contingent left on Wednesday 23 October to relieve the first shift (24 volunteers) for the same areas. The contingent will stay until Sunday 27th”. “Between September and October – concluded the councilor – 39 extremely urgent activities were started in 23 municipalities of the Region, for roads, flood risk mitigation, safety measures after landslides, for 3 million euros. Then, the volunteering system intervened in Fvg for the critical issues that emerged with 535 volunteers, in 222 activities with the use of 156 vehicles and 75 equipment and supplies”. (ANSA).
