As previously reported, a meeting of the UEFA Executive Committee was held in Nyon, Switzerland, at which a number of organizational decisions were made.

Among other things, the new format of the UEFA Youth League was approved, reports site UAF.

The tournament will be adapted to the new format of the main UEFA club competitions. It will feature 36 youth teams representing clubs in the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League Main Competition (Champions League Path).

The National Champions Path is being reformed to include youth championship winners from all UEFA associations (currently only the top 32 associations participate in the tournament).

If a club qualifies for the Champions League Path and National Champions Path, it will automatically be included in the Champions League Path. The place vacated on the Path of National Champions will be taken by the winner of the second place in the corresponding championship.

The winner of the UEFA Youth League will automatically enter the National Champions Path if they did not qualify for the tournament via the Champions League Path.

The tournament in the Champions League Path will completely repeat the corresponding stage of the adult tournament – the participants will play six matches, three at home and away.

The Tournament in the Path of National Champions will consist of three rounds, which will be held according to the playoff scheme with two-legged confrontations (home and away). Clubs from the highest ranked associations will start the tournament from the second round.

At the end of the above-mentioned rounds, starting from the 1/16 final stage, a playoff will be held, in which the winner of each confrontation will be determined in one match.

Clubs ranked 1st to 6th (Champions League Path) will immediately advance to the Round of 16 and will play clubs ranked 17th to 22nd.

Clubs ranked from 7th to 16th in the 1/16 finals will meet with the teams that have overcome the qualification in the National Champions Path.

Clubs ranked 23rd or lower in the Champions League Path will exit the tournament, as will those who lose in the Champions League Path play-offs.

The tournament will end with a four-team final stage (semi-final and final), which will be held on neutral territory.

Pairs of 1/8th, 1/4th and 1/2 finals will be determined by lot.
