“New Foreign Rule in Turkish Football: 11 Foreigners Allowed on Field, Clubs to Make 14 Contracts”

In the “New Foreign Rule” to be announced this week, clubs will be able to make contracts with 14 foreigners. On top of this, the “Fund” requirement for the contracts will come. On the field, there will be 11 foreigners’ freedom.

The “foreign rule” to be implemented by the Turkish Football Federation in the new season will be announced on Friday.

According to the news of Şafak Gözmen from Akşam; The most important difference of the new rule, which has been prepared with the agreement reached as a result of negotiations with the Clubs Association Foundation, club managers and coaches for a long time, will be to allow 11 foreigners on the field.

Previously, Fenerbahce wanted the current foreign rule to continue for one more season, while Galatasaray had taken a stand in favor of being free.

With 70 percent of the clubs advocating freedom for foreigners, TFF tried to solve the problem with an intermediate formula by taking the opinions of the coaches.

Infrastructure share for more foreigners

TFF will first inform the clubs about the new foreign rule that will be finalized.

Club management will be taken to the information meeting at TFF on Friday. The new rules will then be made public. 14 contracts will be allowed next season in the “New Foreign Rule”, which is largely formed.

For qualified foreigners under the age of 23, flexibility will be shown above 14 contracts. However, for contracts exceeding 14, it will be obligatory to transfer a share for infrastructures to a fund to be established in TFF.

3. League will become regional

One of the most important articles of the contract is the removal of the foreign border in the field. The 8+3 rule will be replaced by 11 foreigners’ freedom.

Football clubs will be able to play one or two of their young foreign transfers in the B team. B teams will be included in the 3rd League and the 3rd League will be made regional. The Super League B teams that will compete here will be able to advance to the 1st League, but will not have the right to advance to the Super League.

Domestic and foreign players over the age of 23 will not be allowed to play in these teams.
