Russia has about 100,000 troops stationed in the border area with Ukraine. Kiev and NATO fear they will invade the country.
Russia denied this week that it has any plans to do so and blamed NATO for expanding its military alliance towards Russia over the years. The West and NATO argue that Russia has nothing to say about the choice of sovereign countries to apply for membership.
