Version of the Mach 1 were added to the family of the Ford Mustang at the end of the sixties. Few years, the Mach 1 became the option package for the Mustang of the second generation, and in the first half of the 2000s, Ferdowsi revived a legendary name just two model years. Now next coming. New Ford Mustang Mach 1 will take place between the “civil” modification of the GT and the “charged” family of models Shelby. Externally, the Mach 1 is different and special body kit, hood and grille style ultimately the newest 1969, distinctive stripes on the body, as well as 19-inch wheels of special design (rear wider than front).
A five-liter atmospheric V8 engine produces the same 487 HP and 569 Nm, that of the recent special version Bullitt, however, a number of components, including the engine cooling system and intake manifold borrowed from the modifications of the GT350. In addition, the new Shelby Mach 1 got the chassis components, exhaust pipes and a six-speed “mechanics” Tremec, although alternatively available ten step “automatic”.
Engineers claim that the new aerodynamic elements have allowed to increase downforce on the GT by 22%, and with the optional Handling package with special Package feathering (front splitter, spoiler on the trunk lid, lining in the front arches) it increases by another half.
Changes in the cabin not so much: Mach 1 is equipped with a virtual instrument cluster, an upgraded media system with a display diagonal of 12.3 inches, new door panels, optional leather upholstery seats with white stitching, and a round knob of the lever “mechanics” of the same color and label with a unique serial number of the model.
Alas, the Mach 1 returns to the status of a limited sparsely. Circulation in the company is not misleading, however, outside of North America Mach 1 still appears. Ford plans to announce more details about the new modification (including prices) closer to the start of sales at American dealerships the first car will appear in the spring of 2021.
