In the afternoon of this Wednesday, a new fire engine arrived in the city of Los Angeles that comes to reinforce the contingent, facing the summer season, a time when there is an increase in forest emergencies and fires.
In the dependencies of the city’s headquarters, located on Ricardo Vicuña avenue, the new machine entered, which after a delivery and inauguration ceremony in Concepción, was delivered to the superintendent of firefighters Juan Carlos Jorquera, on behalf of the community angelina.
The car is brand new and will join the 3rd company in town. The community receives it as a Christmas gift.
“The community deserves this. This is a forest spider car, with a capacity of 3000 liters, intended for forest fires and grasslands. Bring an extra 500 liters of water for the sprinklers around the car, so that the cans do not heat up or the paint burn, that is something new that we have not seen here. We saw the demonstration in Concepción and were very satisfied, ”said the Los Angeles fire superintendent.
This is one of the cars with the highest technology in terms of forestry carts. City fire personnel applied for the chance to own the car last year and ended up winning it this year.
The truck will not enter service yet as some papers, documentation and a resolution are missing that must be delivered to the commander before the car begins its work. It is estimated that in 20 days this matter will be formalized and the car can be integrated into the local contingent.
To this acquisition is added the one that will take place next week, a cistern truck with a capacity of 11 thousand liters of water, which also reinforces the work carried out by the city’s firefighters.
