New findings after the accidental death of a 17-year-old

A young woman was hit as she was about to cross the street. She died at the scene of the accident. Now there is new information about the fatal traffic accident.

In the case of the killed pedestrian in Offenbach near Frankfurt, there are new findings. Apparently, the pedestrian crossing that the young woman wanted to cross and on which she was hit by a car was not yet completed and approved by the traffic authority, reports the “Offenbach-Post”.

The reason: the lighting was still missing. The spot is particularly dark, according to local residents.

According to the city, an on-site appointment with the contracted construction company was planned for February 18, two days after the accident. Nevertheless, a pedestrian traffic light that had initially been set up there had probably been dismantled before the accident.

“Obviously, the temporary traffic light has been removed in the meantime, although it should have stayed until the pedestrian crossing was complete,” said city spokeswoman Kerstin Holzheimer of the “Offenbach-Post”. “Why this was the case is currently being investigated.”
