National release of the film “Micha thinks big” by Lars Jessen and Jan Georg Schütte: Lead actor Charly Hübner and the directing team will be guests for a discussion on August 23rd at 8 p.m. in the Fabrik.Kino in Neustrelitz. Hübner was born in Neustrelitz and had his first theater experiences here. In this film he plays the self-made entrepreneur Micha, who returns from Berlin to the small village of his childhood, Klein-Schappleben in Saxony-Anhalt.
It is a hot, dry summer. The game designer has an idea, a vision, in his luggage! He wants to turn his parents’ dilapidated former hotel into a luxury hotel with a wellness oasis for stressed-out city dwellers. The quarreling village community is skeptical about Micha’s ideas regarding their involvement in this daring project. Only Micha’s school friend Tina and his partner Jenny agree to pursue Micha’s ambitious plans. The persistent heat, the drying up groundwater and the conspiracy theories spread with glee by retired teacher Bernd Schlüter all play their part. In the end, the whole village is left high and dry – and its residents must learn that the future of Klein-Schappleben can only be shaped together.
“We are really looking forward to the film and to the visit from Charly Hübner and the team. We can expect an entertaining, upbeat comedy with quirky characters and a lot of improvisational charm,” says Horst Conradt, cinema manager at Sandberg.
Pre-order tickets at 03981 – 20 31 45. The film will then be shown daily at 8:15 p.m. until August 28th.
