The disagreements between two legends of Italian radio are back in the news, Linus and Claudio Cecchetto. The relationship between the two (never idyllic) had definitively broken down way back in 1995, when Cecchetto he abandoned “his” Radio Deejay, then entrusted to the artistic direction of Linus. Now, after the broadcast on Rai 1 of the documentary “People from Cecchetto”, a dig from Linus it reopened old wounds that had never completely healed. New disagreements between Linus and Claudio Cecchetto
An innocent documentary was enough to break the bank. Titled “People from Cecchetto”, the TV film on the career of Claudio Cecchetto was recently broadcast on Rai 1, and in a short time it sparked the poisonous reaction of the former colleague Linus. In fact, during a live broadcast on “Deejay calls Italy”, the Radio Deejay presenter defined “very little interesting” the documentary film, and even he ended up calling me a “fool” to the unfortunate Cecchetto. But to understand the genesis of this story we need to take a step back.
The disagreements between Linus and Claudio Cecchetto were born in 1995, when the latter left Radio Deejay (his creation) and Linus took his place as artistic director of the station. “I left because I understood that they were killing me”, Cecchetto explained years ago, adding that he wasn’t at all surprised by Linus’ choice to stay (“I didn’t expect anything different”). But according to recent statements by Linus himself, released during an episode of “The Confession” by Peter Gomez, he and Claudio were not never got along well.
“I must be sincere, there has never been a great friendship”declared the Radio Deejay speaker, “I understand the hatred that has been harbored towards me for a long time… but I took over a radio station that had a turnover of 5 million and now makes 60. This always bothered him a lot.”.

And now the bitterness between the former colleagues has come back to the surface somewhat surprisingly. This time, however, Claudio Cecchetto was also able to count onsupport of his son Jody, who intervened in his defense through a long Instagram post. “He IS the person thanks to whom you are basically there and Radio Deejay exists”, said the boy, “even just for this reason, without considering everything else, I don’t think he’s that stupid”. Shortly thereafter, Linus attempted to tone down the controversy. But by then the damage had already been done.
