Apple officially launched their newest series of cellphones, iPhone 15 in the “Wonderlust” event, Tuesday (12/9). Even though at first glance it looks similar to its predecessor cellphone, the iPhone 15 has a number of new features.
At the launch event, Apple released the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The following are the new features in the iPhone 15 series.
USB-C plug
Apple has finally answered the iPhone 15 specification rumors out there. One of the newest features on this premium cellphone is the USB-C plug.
Apple replaced the Lightning connector on their entire latest iPhone 15 series, from the regular to the Pro Max.
The iPhone 15 is priced starting at US$799 (Rp. 12.2 million) and the iPhone 15 Plus starts at US$ 899 (Rp. 13.8 million). Apple started opening orders on September 15 and will start shipping to users on September 22.
Tombol Action Button
Apple has embedded an Action Button button on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max series. This button replaces the Mute Switch or ‘silent’ switch on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
The ‘silent’ button on previous iPhones was useful for quickly switching the phone from ring to silent mode and vice versa.
Meanwhile, Action Button allows users to select the type of quick action they want to access. Through the Action Button, users can not only switch the iPhone from ringing mode to silent mode, but can also choose several other quick actions such as opening the camera, turning on the flash, and others.
Material titanium
The material of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is made from titanium grade 5 which allows the weight to be lighter. The iPhone 15 Pro weighs 187 grams, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max weighs 221 grams.
Apple claims this titanium material is more durable than the stainless steel used in the previous series.
Chipset
Another new feature on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is in the chipset sector. These two new iPhone models are equipped with a new chipset, namely the A17 Pro, a processor that is claimed to be more efficient for Apple devices.
The presence of this chipset is also in line with USB-C charging which is faster than the regular iPhone 15.
Camera
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use three rear camera configurations, consisting of a 48 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultrawide camera and a 12 MP telephoto camera.
This camera configuration is exactly the same as its predecessors, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, there is one quite significant improvement, especially on the iPhone 15 Pro Max, namely that the telephoto camera allows optical zoom of up to 5 times.
This makes it the iPhone that has the camera with the farthest optical zoom capability.
