The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Roberto Sánchez, announced today the publication of Emergency Decree No. 091-2021. The mandate establishes, among its multiple scopes, the flexibility of the conditions of access to loans from the Business Support Fund (FAE) Tourism.
“The government has been proposing more supportive measures, according to the harsh reality experienced by entrepreneurs in the tourism sector. Therefore, the approval of the new FAE Tourism makes access measures more flexible for the mypes. It is also expected that more finance companies, such as banks, municipal savings banks, as well as savings and credit cooperatives, will participate in the FAE Tourism ”, said the head of the Mincetur.
This measure will make it possible to provide massive and direct support to the country’s micro and small tourism and craft businesses.
It should be remembered that FAE Tourism is a credit program that is supported by a fund of 200 million nuevos soles, granted through financial entities that were the winners of the auctions carried out by COFIDE. The support is aimed at lodging establishments, interprovincial passenger land transport, tourist transport, travel and tourism agencies, restaurants, leisure activities, organization of congresses, conventions and events, tourist guidance, and production and marketing of handicrafts.
According to Minister Sánchez, the recent Emergency Decree establishes that the first payment of the loan requested by micro and small tourism and artisan companies can be made up to 24 months. Additionally, credits can be canceled in up to sixty months.
In addition, the destination of the credit was extended, which will no longer be only for working capital, but for the acquisition of fixed assets, that is, useful goods for the company. To this is added that, thanks to the legal device, the FAE Tourism will be enabled until March 31, 2022.
“In this way, more tourist mypes will be able to access this important financial tool, which, within the framework of the economic reactivation, will allow them to access a credit designed for the specific needs of the sector. We have been working on the operating regulations, modifying the access conditions, where the RUC file will be replaced by the sworn statement ”, concluded the head of the Mincetur.
