Previously, Facebook was known to have a voice conversation feature for Groups. Unfortunately, that feature only applies to a conversation once or one time. Launching from Engadget on Wednesday (29/6/2022), Facebook said that this new feature is in the form of an audio channel that can be done anytime by anyone like the Discord application.
Facebook’s Deputy Director of Applications Community, Maria Smith, announced that new features are coming to complement the functionality of this group. “Today we started testing a new way to quickly access your favorite Facebook Groups and simplify their settings,” wrote Maria.

He explained that the most significant feature is the subgroup, when channel can organize and present multiple channel others to discuss certain topics. Not only that, Facebook is also testing the side view or sidebar new that makes all group members visible. In fact, he continued, Messenger will be presented so that users can communicate privately or through group chats.
Facebook Ready to Compete with Discord and Slack
According to The Verge, this new feature from Facebook is similar to Discord and Slack’s Channels. Users can control the flow of discussion and separate other information.

Previously, Meta, as the parent company of Facebook, carried out a new policy to overhaul the design of the Facebook application. Turns out, the reason for making the display change was so Facebook could compete against TikTok.
It is known, the trial of the Audio Channel feature by Facebook with several users. It is not known when Facebook officially introduced it to the public, but Mark Zuckerberg’s social media will release it gradually.
