New expositions can be seen in the expositions of co-production laboratories in Sigulda

New expositions can be seen in the co-production laboratories “Nature”, “City” and “Future” created by the cultural center “Siguldas devons” in the square of Sigulda railway station. In the laboratory dedicated to nature you can get acquainted with the exhibition of works by textile artist Ieva Krūmiņa “Pļava”. Through the all-predicting eye of the kinetic sculpture “Dark Vision” by artists Gata Kreitzberg and Johann Lorengel, it is possible to look at potential and possible scenarios for the future in the Laboratory of the Future. The final exposition of the photo project “Third Eye” created by Sigulda residents can be seen in the City Laboratory, the cultural center said.

The exhibition of works by the textile artist and the head of the Textile Art Department of the Latvian Academy of Arts Ieva Krūmiņa “Meadow” can be seen in the Nature Laboratory. The artist has created golden, fragile bent and grass stalks in a special author’s technique, the raw material used in the work is polyethylene – PET waste. The contradictory connection reflected in the works of the exhibition, where urban, contemporary buildings are entwined in the curves of light forms, offers the viewer to delve into the truly fragile beauty of nature.

The kinetic sculpture “Dark Vision” created by artists Gatis Kreicbergs and Johanna Lorengela can be seen in the laboratory of the future. The sculpture is made of household waste, a refrigerator, pipes, wood waste and memories of old things.

“Like a fortune teller, it depicts visions of a possible future drowning in waste and predicts that we are the thieves of our own future if we do not look for solutions. “Darkness” invites visitors to look into the future and think about the judicious use of environmental resources and the importance of sustainable thinking, “explains the Sigulda Devons Cultural Center.

Within the framework of the photo project “Third Eye”, Sigulda residents of different generations and professions share their special places in the city, capturing them in the frames of analogue photo films. This time, in the final part of the photo project, the exposition will feature photo moments taken by colleagues and family members of the cultural center “Sigulda Devons” with their favorite places in the city.

It should be reminded that in the square of Sigulda railway station, already from the middle of February, visitors have access to an environment where it is possible to form a dialogue about the place where we live and to contribute to the formation of the city. Art expositions and planned art projects in co-production laboratories in Sigulda railway station square will be on view until June 3.
