The Municipality of Tirúa, in the Biobío Region, announced this Thursday of a new error in the inoculation process against Covid-19, which this time involved a six-month-old infant vaccinated with the Coronavac drug from the Sinovac laboratory.
According to the municipality, the mother had taken the minor to receive the corresponding vaccine according to the vaccination schedule to the Family Health Center (Cesfam) in the town, immediately notifying both her and the corresponding authority after knowing the error.
Likewise, the Municipality of Tirúa indicated that the respective administrative summary will be carried out in order to clarify the facts, and that the head of service has already taken the necessary measures to prevent this event from happening again.
In this way, the infant, who is under observation without presenting an unfavorable reaction, adds to the fact that occurred with a child under six months, vaccinated by mistake in Cesfam Los Volcanes de Villarrica.
Let us remember that until now, none of the vaccines in Chile has been officially tested in children under 18 years of age.
