In just five years, the Mx Femenil league has its own identity and has captured the attention of the Mexican soccer fan.
The new era of women’s soccer has important changes: the inclusion of foreign players and the return of selected nationals to Mexican clubs like Charlyn Corral, Kiana Palacios and Cecilia Santiago.
In five years, the Liga MX Femenil has registered 1,005 players. 75% of the matches have been played in stadiums where 7 clubs have added more than 100,000 fans.
Tigres four times, Chivas, América and Rayadas are the champion teams in the 8 tournaments that have been held. The 2020 closing tournament had no winner when it was canceled due to the pandemic.
The first day of the Apertura 2021 tournament will open with the game between Querétaro and Rayadas.
