New episodes
Tina Nijkamp noticed at the end of last week that a new episode of the knowledge quiz was suddenly shown on Friday afternoon around 3:30 PM. “Hey!!! What strange thing do I see now? Chantal Janzen is with Beat the Champions relegated to the afternoon on RTL4???!” she wrote on her Instagram. “No, right? This seems more like a huge programming blunder to me.”
It soon turned out that nothing could be further from the truth, according to RTL it was a conscious choice to broadcast it at that time. “RTL will start a new version of the format next year. A few ‘new old’ episodes were still on the shelf,” the channel said in a statement.
Beat the Champions
It is not yet clear what exactly will be adapted to the format. It could just be a new panel member or even several. In the episodes that can still be seen, knowledge champions Diederik Jekel, Nynke de Jong, Devrim Aslan, Abel Gilsing and Cindy Hemink compete against various unknown Dutch people in a true race against the clock. Chantal Janzen has the honor of asking the questions.
When the new season Beat the Champions can be seen is not known. For now you can see the ‘new old’ episodes every Friday from 3:30 PM on RTL4. You can also watch it again via Videoland.
