New episode resolves old Boba Fett issue

It was just a small sentence that went into Star Wars: The Clone Wars fell almost casually, but it should trigger a real avalanche. Said in the animated series Prime Minister Almec to Obi-Wan, bounty hunter Jango Fett is not a real Mandalorian – and thus also not his clone Boba Fett.

Many fans were outraged by this statement, but the latest episode of the 2nd season from The Mandalorian puts this in a slightly different light and change the background story of the two legendary killers.

In the new “The Mandalorian” episode, Din Djarin and the little grogu the Planet Tython. After they arrive at that special place from them Ahsoka Tano our taciturn main character notices that someone has followed them.

A little later this someone reveals himself: It is the one who was thought to be dead for many years Bounty hunter Boba Fett – and he wants his armor back that Cobb Vanth handed over to Din. However, the protagonist refuses to hand him the armor because he not a true Mandalorian be. Or at least we thought so.

Later, Boba Fett picks up the armor himself and shows Din that it was used before admitted to his father was before it passed on to him. The ID code also shows that Jango Fett, just like Din, a foundling was. He proved himself worthy of the armor when he was im Mandalorian Civil War fought.

This now retrospectively rewrites Almec’s statement in “The Clone Wars”. There he said, bounty hunter Jango Fett stole the armor and even though he comes from Concord Dawn, a Mandalorian planet, not a true Mandalorian.
