New entry rules for travelers from outside the EU came into effect today. From 00:00 a test obligation applies to all travelers from non-EU countries who travel to the Netherlands. This also applies to vaccinated persons and people with a recovery certificate. Travelers from very high-risk areas are required to be quarantined.
The test evidence – from a PCR test – may be a maximum of 48 hours old, the test evidence of an antigen test a maximum of 24 hours. Travelers from very high-risk areas must be quarantined for ten days. This period can be shortened to five days with a negative test at the GGD on day 5.
The new entry rules do not apply to travelers from EU/Schengen countries and the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom: Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
There are exceptions to the new entry rules: children under the age of 12, for example, do not have to show a negative test result. read here more about the exceptions.
