New Emulator for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5: Improved PlayStation 2 Game Compatibility and Features

It’s been possible to play PlayStation 2 games on your PlayStation 5 (and on PlayStation 4 for some time now). Still, there have been plenty of complaints in the past about the PS2 emulation on Sony’s consoles today. For fans of retro games, there may now be some good news.

The YouTuber claims to have information from “reliable sources” that a new emulator is being worked on for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. In the video, the YouTuber broadly discusses the state of PlayStation Plus Classic with all the classic games released since the launch of PlayStation Plus Premium have appeared. The YouTuber does not mention specific details about the new emulator.

PlayStation and PSP already improved

Previously there were improvements for the emulation of PlayStation One and PSP games. Titles that originally came out for that hardware can now be played on PS4 and PS5 with save states and rewinds. Remarkably, these types of options are still missing from PlayStation 2 games. Perhaps these features will be added with the improved emulator.
