New emergency bulletin from the EMY – A “hot” two days are coming

Very high temperatures will be recorded from tomorrow and for two days, according to an update of the emergency bulletin of dangerous weather phenomena, which refers to the heat wave that has been causing intermittent heat conditions called CLEON in many areas of the country since July 12.

In summary:

On Monday 24-7-2023 temporary retreat of very high temperatures.

On Tuesday 25-7-2023 new (the third) thermal flare-up with very high temperatures.

On Wednesday 26-7-2023, very high temperatures throughout the country, but from the afternoon the heat wave will begin its retreat from north-western Greece.

On Thursday 27-7-2023 a noticeable drop in temperature.

More detail:

1. On Monday 7-24-2023 the temperature drops by 2 to 5 degrees Celsius, with the largest drop observed in the eastern country and the smallest in the west. The maximum values ​​will reach:

a. In the Ionian islands and their mainland 38 to 40 and in places in the western mainland and the Peloponnese 41 to 42 degrees Celsius

b. the Dodecanese and southern Crete 38 to 39 degrees Celsius

c. in the rest of their island country 35 to 37 degrees Celsius.

2. On Tuesday 7-25-2023 a new heat wave is predicted in the country. The maximum temperature values ​​will reach:

a. On the mainland 40 to 42 and locally in the interior of Thessaly and Mainland 43 to 44 degrees Celsius

b. in the Ionian islands, the eastern Aegean islands, the Dodecanese and southern Crete 39 to 41 degrees Celsius

c. in the rest of island Greece, 36 to 38 degrees Celsius

3. On Wednesday 7-26-2023 the temperature will reach the very high levels of Tuesday, but from the afternoon in the northwestern country and more specifically in the northern Ionian, Epirus and western Sterea the weather situation will change with storms that will be temporarily accompanied by very strong north northwest winds (burenia). These short-lived, but intense phenomena will extend in the evening to Macedonia, Thessaly, the western Peloponnese and the southern Ionian.

4. On Thursday 7-27-2023 the temperature is predicted to drop by 6 to 8 degrees across the country and will not exceed 35 to 37 degrees.
