The 51-year-old Antwerp actor who was arrested at the end of July in an investigation into suspected child abuse was brought before the investigating judge earlier this week. According to the prosecutor’s office, new elements have emerged. The man was released under strict conditions.

“After the search of 23 July, new elements have emerged in the further judicial investigation, among other things by reading the computer material,” says spokesperson Kristof Aerts of the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office.

“The 51-year-old from Antwerp was confronted with this and was brought before the investigating judge on September 20. He has decided to release the man under strict conditions. The judicial investigation is continuing,” said Aerts. The public prosecutor does not go into further detail about which elements are involved and which conditions the man must meet.

After an undercover report by a Dutch journalist from investigative collective ‘Free Birds’ in collaboration with Het Laatste Nieuws, the Antwerp public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation into the actor, who in the past played several large and small roles in productions of VTM, Studio 100, VRT and Disney. . In a conversation with the journalist, the actor claimed that he had already had sex with underage boys.
The journalist also arranged a false meeting for the actor with a ten-year-old boy in an Antwerp hotel room. When he accepted this, the journalist passed on all information to the police and the public prosecutor’s office. The man was arrested two weeks ago. During his interrogation, he vehemently denied all allegations and called his statements to the journalist “big talk”.
