New Edition of Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch: Release Date, Size, and Comparisons

New edition Red Dead Redemption for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch will also be sold here in a physical edition. Czech distributor company Cenega Czech confirmed that the release will take place on 10/13 of this year. The game will be released digitally on Thursday, August 17.

If you play on Nintendo Switch, prepare 11.5 GB. This is a similar size to other titles, for example The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom requires 15GB.

“Experience the epic Western adventure Red Dead Redemption and its groundbreaking zombie-horror companion Undead Nightmare as both games come to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in one package for the first time ever. Double Eleven Studios’ new conversion brings together these classic gaming experiences in the Switch and PS4 versions for new players and original fans alike to enjoy on modern consoles, including backwards compatibility with PlayStation 5.” we will read in the press release.

Undead Nightmare is a story expansion in which protagonist John Marston fights for survival against a zombie horde and searches for a cure in a creepy, supernatural variation on the western genre.

Double Eleven Studios is a British company that worked on the console versions of RimWorld and Rust, as well as helping Mojang with Minecraft Legends and participating in Crackdown 3.

“One of the most awarded games of all time with over 170 Game of the Year awards, Red Dead Redemption tells the story of ex-outlaw John Marston as he journeys across the vast expanses of the American West and Mexico to track down the last remaining members of the infamous Van der Linde gang trying to save his family. Relive, or for the first time, the events immediately following the epic story of honor and loyalty in the 2018 blockbuster Red Dead Redemption 2, as Marston searches for his former friends and outlaws Bill Williamson, Javier Escuella, and ex-gang leader Dutch van der Linde, while the cowboy era is coming to an end,” a press release recaps the story.

However, players from the port of Red Dead Redemption for PS4 and Switch are not very excited and would prefer a remaster/remake also available for computers, for which the game was not released at all. In addition, they are bothered by the high price (50 dollars/euro, in our case 1250 CZK). The boss of Take-Two recently defended this.
