New doses of Pfizer vaccines arrived in Bogotá against COVID-19

In the last hours The Ministry of Health received a new batch of 35,100 doses of vaccines from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, which will be used to resume the application of second doses and for first and second doses to pregnant women, starting this Thursday, December 16, at the more than 30 large points enabled in Bogotá.

In Bogotá there are more than 300,000 people who are waiting to receive second doses of the biological Pfizer, for which the Ministry of Health clarifies that the application of this vaccine can be extended until 84 days after the first dose, according to the guidelines of the Ministry Health and Social Protection, so new deliveries are expected by the National Government to speed up the immunization process.

The Health sector received 68,400 doses of Moderna and 172,800 of AstraZeneca, which will be distributed in the vaccination IPS of Bogotá during the next few hours to speed up the vaccination process of the population.

These doses will be prioritized for the following population, in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection and the sanitary authorization of use of INVIMA:

Moderna dose

First doses will be applied to the adolescent population between 12 and 17 years of age in Bogotá. Moderna will also be applied for booster doses.

AstraZeneca dosage

They will be used for the application of booster doses.

Additionally, the entity reiterates that at the vaccination points there is sufficient availability of Janssen biologics, of a single application dose to complete their vaccination schedule and invites citizens to consult the social networks of the Ministry of Health, as well as in the website www.saludcapital.gov.co, the hours and immunization points against the coronavirus enabled in the city.
